Macbeth is one of my favorite of Shakespeare's plays, and I've always been fascinated by Lady Macbeth. In this novel, author Melanie Karsak successfully creates sympathy for this power-hungry character with an intriguing backstory of Lady Macbeth's youth. Karsak devised new characters along with twists on the known Shakespeare favorites like Banquo and the witches. She establishes a magical, dangerous, and believable world for these characters. I was completely pulled into it and anticipate the next in the series.
