This has renewed my interest in his books. The action of Dirk with his lisp and dainty walk split my side laughing. And the sound of echidna made me sick. And the final scene at the pirates cave was magnificent.

Great series. I am reading it right now again. Like the connection between the books.
Good read with a fast moving storyline. I thought the ending was rather abrupt which seems to be characteristic of Clive Cussler's books. Story was generally realistic but I noted two discrepancies the US Coast Guard's reconnaissance aircraft would most likely be turboprop aircraft built by Lockheed (C-130 or P-3). Not a reciprocating engine power aircraft built by Boeing. The other discrepancy was the use of a B-92 supersonic reconnaissance aircraft to transport Pitt to the west coast. No such aircraft that I am aware of. But generally a good read with interesting plot twists and a lot of action.
I'm reading these in order even though you don't need to. Each Dirk Pitt Adventure is stand alone. This one had lots of twists and turns along the way, although I was not to happy with one of them. Great descriptions of countryside and types and styles of ships and planes. Interesting read.
Excellent read with a number of interested, unsuspected and surprising twists which had me totally enthralled!. I highly recommend 'Iceberg' to anyone interested in a great adventure, 'who-done-it' read!
I'm into only my second Clive Cussler/Dirk Pitt book and I like them enough to consider more in the future but it's clear who Dirk is strong, with a phenomenal tolerance of pain, very bright and thoroughly prepared. I have found the dénouement chapters a bit overwhelming with hidden information. The writing quality is fair. Few original phrases here. But sometimes I am in the mood for the familiar, and Dirk Pitt will fill that bill.
people should know that this book is a hard cover book the size of a paperback not a 'normal' hard cover size... I buy hard cover books because of the size and ease of reading.. This book although well written lacks those two important items..
Excellent Dirk Pitt novel where Dirk seems more like a cat with nine lives giving them up time and again. The twists and turns in the story leave a person guessing as to what will happen next, often figuring he cannot get out of each predicament. But get out he does, and show his powers as an actor as well as a super hero. A very good book and recommended.
